How can i permanently delete my facebook and will messages i sent to people be removed?

Question From User – Answers in Comments.

I sent a message that i really regret and i just want to delete facebook in general. i have noticed when people delete their facebook that messages still sit there with their name and what was written in the message stays. how can i delete my facebook so all messages i’ve sent out are removed and everything to do with my profile is removed from facebook. this is possible right?
Please help!

i don’t think that’s possible to do that. i’m pretty sure that when you delete your account, facebook still keeps all your info, so that if you decide to re-activate, everything will be re-loaded back. so your messages will still be there.

the message u sent cant be deleted unless the Receiver deletes it themselves, u can deactivate ur account tho by going to account settings then at the Very bottom it will say deactivate account

You can delete your wall posts and comments on other people’s profiles but messages that are sent to your friends cant be deleted unless they themselves delete them. I am not just sure though whether your name will still appear on the post when you have deleted your account already or will a blank profile/avatar be displayed instead of your old one.

Sent messages cannot be deleted. For the rest, contact Facebook and they’ll remove everything.
